Could you tell us more about how your upbringing has contributed to the life that you lead now?

I grew up in Poland and I was quite lucky to have very loving and supportive parents. Things weren’t always easy but I always knew they wanted great things for me. They expected me to work hard and be the best that I could be.

I probably have my dad to thank for the inspiration to strike out on my own and become an entrepreneur. He’s a natural-born leader and has been a business owner for as long as I can remember. He showed me the bigger picture of entrepreneurship; he taught me that it was as much about serving others as it was about doing something you felt called to do and creating freedom for your family.

My father’s example of dedication, integrity, and service to others influenced my career choices and the life I have today, without a doubt. In fact, if it hadn’t been for my dad, I’m not sure I would have dared to leave my career and apply the skills I learned in the corporate world to build a business around empowering women in the private sector.

How do you help entrepreneurs and professionals to rebuild their confidence?

In my corporate career, my ideas and abilities were constantly called into question by my male co-workers. I had to go above and beyond what would be expected of a man in my position and work twice as hard as my male counterparts to be seen as capable and worthy of my seat in the boardroom.

That experience lit a fire in me. I was tired of living in a world where as women, we feel the need to downplay our strengths or give up on our dreams in order to fit in and inch ahead. Ultimately, that was the driving force behind my decision to become a life and success coach and create my company, Ultimate Confidence Ltd.

The foundation of the work I do is to help my clients rebuild their confidence so they can achieve the goals they’ve set for themselves, which revolves around mindset and methodology. I take them through a step-by-step process that starts with identifying the thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that have led them to make certain decisions that haven’t served them. They need to develop an awareness of the fact that they have a choice in what they think and believe, so they feel empowered to make choices that move them toward their goals.

The final phase of our work together focuses on creating a strategy and a plan of action to design the life they truly want to live.

What advice would you give to women who want to have a great career like yourself?

First and foremost, you have to understand that your mindset matters and do everything you can to replace your self-destructive thoughts and behaviors and with beliefs and habits that are in alignment with the life you want. Then, you can focus on taking small, consistent actions towards creating that kind of life. Trying to change everything all at once is overwhelming and unsustainable. Taking on too much at any given time leads to burnout and it’s the biggest reason most people give up on their goals.

If you can commit to taking even the smallest action day in and day out, your life will look a whole lot different in six months or a year. Consistency might not be the sexiest idea but it gets results.

From a strategy perspective, breaking your bigger goals down into smaller goals helps you figure out exactly what you need to do on a daily basis to achieve them and make success non-negotiable.
