Can you tell us more about your entrepreneur journey?
I started my own company in my mid twenties My main focus was actually already there then, as I can see now, on building inner leadership. I was a health consultant working with health strategies in different companies and organisations. There I met managers and employees who needed to deal with their stress and physical discomfort. They wanted to learn more about mental training and how to exercise, stretch and learn to eat better food. How to be healthy and productive at the same time.
When I met with my clients they opened up, I asked questions and helped them to find their answers to better health and work/life balance. Since I was an athlete I knew about sports coaching but when I came across something called “professional coaching” it really knocked me out in a positive way. I had found my approach, methodology and tools and I developed my business to more management consultancy, executive coaching and leadership training.
Today I run Partner in Progress with the training academy Leadership Growth Academy where we focus on all levels of leadership; The Inner, as in self leadership, The Outer, as in being a leader, coach and manager and The global, as in being the Transformational leader of tomorrow.
What motivates you to be a leader?
My main beacon for being a leader is to be part of making this world better by developing human growth, and also to show the way by being a model for the leadership needed. I share my knowledge and my perception of what builds sustainable transformational leaders. We are all leaders and affect others around us whether we are aware of it or not.
How do you measure success for you as a leader?
This is an interesting and multifaceted topic from several points of view. The first thing is to define success and that varies for all of us and it also differs over time in our lives. We can measure success in both outer and inner factors, as in titles and compensation (money) and as in living our values and contributing to something bigger than ourselves. Other ways of viewing it is that we have different roles in life where success means different things.
I measure my success as a leader transformer in the people I help to become the leaders they truly are. Even if quality always beats quantity and one transformation is fantastic, I want to help many.
I also measure it as a leader in life in how well I live in relation to who I am and my purposes in life.
The third area I want to highlight is my role as a business leader and in that area I measure how the company is doing and can develop, and that includes the economy. A good economy is an important measurement.
What are your top messages for our readers?
There is a human paradigm shift approaching, with the rise of the female power, and we need to be ready to participate. Together we will create the change to make this world better.
To be able to do that we need to start with our own personal leadership, to lead ourselves with full potential. Self-leadersip alway starts with self knowledge and a good self image. I use to say that we all need to make our own inner self-leadership journey from consciuosness to contribution.
Another important part is using help as a tool, as in asking for help from others and also to help others to grow. Let us empower ourselves and each other!
