A Chinese proverb says “Happiness is not a destination but a way to travel”

I always tell my clients that we live too short and die too long if we don’t make conscious choices and take action. We can control our lives instead of letting life control us.

A Journey of Self-Discovery

My mother was very young when she had me, so I always felt that I needed to make the most of myself. After earning my master’s degree, I began working in market research. This phase of my life was fascinating because I learned to ask insightful questions, view situations from different perspectives, and understand consumer behavior. However, I was driven by titles, success, and large paychecks. This led me to a position as a European product manager in the pharmaceutical industry, but despite the success, I was very unhappy.

A Career Shift

I eventually quit to follow my passion as a professional coach. This meant taking a big step down financially and career-wise, but I was finally happy to get out of bed every morning. I worked for the coaching company for more than 3 years but found myself being a part of a plan that I did not like.  One of my favorite quotes is, “If you don’t have a plan, you become part of others.” I wished to start my own business, but I felt obligated to the people who had given me a chance in this new line of work. Luckily fate intervened, and the company went bankrupt. This gave me the opportunity I had been waiting for. Everything was in place; I was just waiting for the right time, and the universe provided it, now I could pursue starting my own coaching company.

From a young age, I was interested in helping others and vividly remember coaching the neighborhood kids. However, I also felt the need to make something of myself since my mom had sacrificed her education and career for me. I believed that higher education was the way to achieve this.

The Impact of Universal Laws

My interest in personal growth and helping others led me to embark on a coaching journey over 20 years ago. Since then, I have acquired many coaching diplomas and developed a holistic range of tools to help my clients. The most profound impact on my journey came from working with the Universal Laws. These laws have always existed, yet many of us were unaware of their presence and influence, including me until ten years ago. I love teaching my clients about these laws and witnessing their personal and professional transformations. Many experience complete turnarounds, moving from feeling stuck to thriving.

Daily Practices for Success

As a mother of two girls and three stepsons, I have encountered nearly every situation imaginable in a family. The knowledge I’ve gained working as a mentor, especially from working with Universal Laws, always helps me find a solution. Especially when my eldest daughter got a rare blood disease at the age of 12. At that time I was happy that I was fully aware that I am the creator of my world. If I can find the bad, I can also find the good. “After chaos comes a new order.”

As a mom and business owner, I reflect on my goals each day and ask myself, “What do I want to accomplish today?” Prioritizing and making decisions are key to staying sane during a hectic week. I call myself a mentor because I always walk the talk myself, when I help my clients create a vision, find their purpose, and live fulfilling, passionate lives, I am speaking from experience.

My passion is to empower women and teach self-mastery and personal leadership. When you can manage yourself, your emotions, and your feelings, you are capable of anything. Most people act out of fear, leading to fear-based results. I encourage my clients to ask themselves daily, “Am I making this decision out of faith or fear?” This is a tool I apply to my own life every time I make a decision.

Lifelong Learning and Mentorship

Last year, I created a journal and calendar incorporating all the elements needed for success, self-awareness, accountability, and self-care. My goal is to provide this tool to women worldwide who are serious about their growth and self-awareness. I created this journal because I needed an easy way to move forward with my daily activities, goals, and life in general.

Empowering Women

I am from Denmark but have lived in many countries, and the situation is similar worldwide. Women of my generation were taught to put themselves aside for their families—first their husbands, then their kids, and then their parents. While that is admirable, I believe it wastes tremendous resources. It’s time to end that mindset. I want to help women overcome self-doubt, insecurity, fear, resistance, and lack of direction. It’s time to focus on what we want rather than what we don’t want. It’s time to summon courage, step out of our comfort zones, and learn from our experiences. We can be good mothers, daughters, wives, and friends while still pursuing fulfilling and passionate lives. Remember, passion rubs off.

My Final Advice

Remember, people may have opinions about who they think you are, but it’s up to you whether you listen. You don’t have to make their opinions your truth. You decide who you want to be.
