When You Feel Like Quitting: Why That’s Exactly When You’re Growing
Let’s be honest.
Entrepreneurship isn’t all vision boards and stages. Some days, it’s staring at a blank screen, wondering why things still aren’t clicking. It’s watching someone else hit 6 figures with what looks like half the effort and thinking, What am I doing wrong?
If you’ve ever found yourself fantasizing about quitting—maybe even Googling job openings or wondering if it’s just easier to walk away—you’re not alone.
In fact, that moment is more common than most of us admit.
Here’s the thing:
Entrepreneurship is an emotional journey just as much as it is a strategic one.
And the emotions that rise up—the envy, the doubt, the burnout, the fear—aren’t signs that you’re failing. They’re signs that something deeper is asking to be seen, understood, and gently shifted.
Envy can feel uncomfortable, but it’s actually a signal from your inner guidance system. It points to something you deeply want—but maybe haven’t let yourself fully claim. If you were taught to downplay your desires or keep your dreams “reasonable,” envy might feel threatening. But what if it’s just showing you what’s possible for you, too?
Doubt often shows up right before a big leap. It’s the voice that tries to protect you from risk, embarrassment, or rejection. Imagine yourself about to step off a cliff into the unknown and a hand comes down out of nowhere and keeps you from taking that leap. At one point in your life, that doubt may have kept you safe. But now? It might be holding you back from becoming who you’re truly meant to be.
Burnout can seem like a workload issue, but it often runs deeper. It’s the result of people-pleasing, overgiving, or overdoing to get an “at-a-girl.” These patterns may have once earned you love, praise, or belonging—but now they drain your energy and creativity. Shifting them takes self-awareness, and support.
Fear isn’t the enemy. It’s a sign you’re expanding. When fear bubbles up, it usually means you’re stepping outside your comfort zone—and your nervous system is responding accordingly. You don’t have to get rid of fear. You just have to learn how to walk with it.
All of these emotions are rooted in old protective patterns—emotional habits designed to keep you safe in the past. They’re not bad or wrong. They’re just outdated. And recognizing that is the first step in reclaiming your energy, your power, and your vision.
So if you find yourself in a moment of “I don’t know if I can do this anymore,”
that moment doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path.
It might actually mean you’re on the edge of something meaningful.
And if you’re craving space to unpack what you’re feeling, that’s perfectly okay too.
You don’t have to figure it out alone.
