How You Do Anything Is How You Do Everything
By Natalia Jansen
The first time I heard the phrase “How you do anything is how you do everything” was in the middle of my certification training with my mentor, Mary Morrissey. It was one of those simple statements that hit with surprising depth so much so, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. It felt like an invitation. A call to consciousness. In a world where so much of our day-to-day living becomes automatic, this phrase pulled me back to the power of presence. And the more I reflected on it, the more I began to see: this statement is not about perfection, it’s about awareness. It’s about living awake instead of asleep, intentional instead of reactive. It’s a path to reclaiming joy, purpose, and personal power in every moment. It’s also the foundation of what I call Starring In Your Life. showing up fully, with presence, wherever you are.
Autopilot Living: The Silent Surrender
As adults, we operate on habits: mental, emotional, and behavioral. Most of them are invisible to us, hardwired into our subconscious mind through repetition, survival, or social conditioning. We wake up, do what needs to be done, and hope we’ll eventually reach the life we desire.
But here’s the quiet tragedy: many people give up on real change. They settle. They survive. They simply function.
Somewhere along the way, they stop dreaming and start enduring. They feel the inner decay of a life lived from resignation, not inspiration.
Yet how you do anything is how you do everything invites us to look deeper, to pause and notice the small, unconscious ways we show up in our lives and what those patterns are really creating. It’s a reminder that your presence matters, even in the smallest of moments.
And that’s where your Star Power lives.
Presence Transforms the Ordinary
We tend to reserve our best energy for “important” moments: career milestones, big decisions, special occasions. We give our all when the stakes are high and rush through everything in between.
But the truth is: your life is made up of the in-between.
It’s in the dishes.
The school pick-up line.
The way you respond when plans shift.
How you treat yourself when you fall short.
It’s in how you fold laundry.
Yes, laundry.
When I view it as a chore, I resist it. It drains me.
But when I press play on my favorite audiobook, light a candle, or remind myself that this act is caring for my family, I shift the energy entirely.
It becomes sacred.
Even joyful.
Because it’s not about what we’re doing—it’s about how we’re doing it. The more conscious we become in these micro-moments, the more we reclaim our role as the star in our own story.
Energy Is Everything
Through my coaching and personal journey, I’ve learned something essential: our energy is our message to the universe.
You’re like a tuning fork, emitting frequency with every thought, feeling, and action. If you’re constantly tense, annoyed, or drained—even in small tasks—you’re sending out signals that attract more of the same.
But when you become intentional about your state, when you pause, breathe, and shift into a higher vibration, you begin to broadcast a new message:
“I am available for joy, flow, beauty, and ease.”
It’s not about pretending to be happy all the time. It’s about noticing when your energy is off and choosing, in small but powerful ways, to shift it. To say:
“I want to feel better. And I’m willing to try.”
That’s Star Power. The awareness that your energy creates your reality, and you can reset it, moment by moment.
The Path of the Conscious Creator
Each moment of your day holds a choice:
Will I operate from default or design?
Will I remain unconscious or choose to wake up?
Will I rush through or show up fully?
How you do anything is how you do everything reminds us that our greatest power lies in the present moment. That even the simplest actions, when done with intention, hold transformative energy.
And when you begin living this way, you start to unlock more of your infinite potential. You don’t wait for life to hand you a breakthrough.
You become the breakthrough.
That’s what it means to Star in Your Life. You don’t wait for the perfect scene to appear. You embody the role now.
The Invitation
If you’ve ever felt like life is passing you by, or that you are too tired, too busy, or too stuck to feel joy, this is your invitation to come home to yourself.
To bring your attention to the now.
To notice how you’re moving through your day.
To slow down. To smile. To breathe.
Because how you do anything is how you do everything.
And when you begin to choose love, joy, and presence, even in the smallest of moments, you begin to rewrite your entire life script.
You begin to live as the star you already are.
