Ghislaine Albina: From Body Battle to Radiant Rebirth
A sacred journey of healing, wholeness, and coming home to self.
Ghislaine Albina’s story is not just one of weight loss — it’s a soulful reclamation. After years of battling her body, her reflection, and the weight of societal expectations, she made a life-altering decision: to stop fighting and start listening. What followed was a radical transformation — from disconnection and survival to deep embodiment and radiant living. Through vulnerability, courage, and unwavering devotion to her truth, Ghislaine has become a guide for women ready to rise, reconnect, and return to the brilliance of who they really are. Her journey is an invitation — not to chase perfection, but to come home to yourself.
What was the moment you realized you were surviving, not living?
I realized I was surviving and not living when I attempted, for the trillionth time, to go on a diet. The same voice echoed in my head: “Here we go again,” and “Maybe you won’t be a failure this time.” That moment made me realize something was fundamentally wrong. I was moving through life in survival mode, not from a place of aliveness.
How did your relationship with your body shape the way you saw yourself and the world?
It dictated everything. The way I spoke, the way I presented myself, the way I overcompensated with humor, the way I hid my wisdom behind the wall of shame I felt about my body.
What did it take for you to stop fighting and start listening to yourself?
When my husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary, something clicked. By then, it was clear that we wouldn’t be having children, and it would be just him and me for the rest of our lives. That realization shifted my perspective on how I wanted to fill my life. I simply knew: I didn’t want the next 10 years to be a copy of the last 10. Children often shape the structure of a life, but without them, it became my responsibility to radically shape it myself. My first step was to stop the fight I had been having with my body for years… and start healing it.
How did you begin to rebuild trust with your body after everything you’d been through?
I started by going to yoga classes, and luckily, I had a teacher who invited me to meet my body where she was, instead of pushing into some ideal pose. From there, I softened into the postures the practices, and began to truly feel the physical sensations in my body. That’s when I realized: I felt pain—so much pain.
At the same time, I discovered Louise Hay’s books You Can Heal Your Life and You Can Heal Your Body, and began doing mirror work daily. Day in, day out. And when I looked into my own eyes and whispered “I love you”,—and tears started flowing because it was the first time I truly saw myself—I knew I had found the way back to my body.
What was going through your heart and mind when you chose to have the surgery?
I sat with the possibility of surgery for an entire year before making my decision. I researched, read, and sought to deeply understand what was going to happen to and within my body. Once I felt informed, I began doing visualizations to connect with the process, both to feel into the meaning of the surgery and to ask my body for permission. After that year, I felt a clear and empowered yes. I found a surgeon (that took about 3 months), and around 7 months later, I had the operation. My mind was peaceful—I knew exactly what was going to happen. And my heart was joyful—I was making a decision that would support me for the rest of my life.
What does healing look like for you now, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually?
Healing now means slowing down. Taking time to journal. Creating conscious pauses throughout the day to reset. Every physical, emotional, or spiritual challenge is now an invitation to lean in and see the bigger picture. Of course, I don’t always get it right—I sometimes ignore the nudge. But then it usually returns louder: a bigger disappointment, a deeper sadness, or an injury that keeps me at home for days. 🙂
What helped you shift from shrinking yourself to fully expressing who you are?
Reconnecting to my femininity. We live in a world where nearly everything is modelled in a masculine way: how to build a business, a career, a social media presence—even how to be a wife or a lover. Once I reclaimed my body, I reclaimed my feminine energy. That changed everything. First, in how I approached my marriage, then my friendships, and finally, my company. Since my business is in full alignment with my soul’s mission, expressing who I truly am became second nature.
What does it feel like to live in your truth today, compared to before?
It feels like… WAWOUWZA!
The world feels like a place where I can be fully myself—as a woman, an entrepreneur, a wife, a friend. There are no limits to what I can achieve because I am deeply aligned with what I am here to bring into the world.
How do you support other women in finding their way back to themselves?
I created a program called The Wheel of Expansion, inspired by the classic Wheel of Life—but infused with feminine energetics and embodied wisdom.
During the day intensives or weekend immersions, I guide women back to their desires, not from the mind or societal expectation of what success should look like, but from the truth that lives in their hearts.
I help them ask: “What do I, the unique woman that I am, have to offer the world?”
Witnessing women reconnect with that part of themselves is nothing short of magical.
If someone feels lost in their body or life right now, what would you want them to know?
I’d want them to know this: You can find your way back by coming home to your magnificent body. Place a hand on your heart. Close your eyes. Listen. There, in the stillness, is the truth of what’s real for you. Let that truth guide you—not toward surviving, but toward thriving.
